Giving Opportunities for the Feagin Leadership Program

Funding for the program comes solely from three sources - individual philanthropy, corporate partnerships, and clinical departments’ support for residents and fellows.  We have two funds to which donors can contribute:

Feagin Leadership Program Unrestricted Endowment Fund (Long-term sustainment for the Program)

This fund, in honor of Dr Feagin, will sustain his medical leadership legacy through this new program-specific endowment.  Distributions from the fund will support needs such as expansion of the Feagin Scholars Program, continued development of medical leadership education, support for the program leaders’ efforts, and enhancement of the annual Feagin Leadership Forum.

Annual Fund (Operating Budget)

This fund is used for the operating costs each year for the Feagin Leadership Program.  The cost for one Scholar to participate in the nine month developmental experience ranges between $10,000 to $15,000, depending on how many scholars we select for the Program.

Thirty Feagin Scholars (16 medical school students and 14 residents/fellows) were selected for 2019-2020 Program out of an applicant pool of 58. Last year we had 25 Scholars in the Program.

  • An annual gift of $10,000 - $15,000 will fund a Scholar’s experience for one year.

  • An annual gift of $1000 - $5000 partially funds a Scholar’s annual experience.

  • An annual gift of $100 - $999 helps support one of our 5 didactic sessions.
