Feagin Leadership Scholars

Feagin Medical Scholars

Leadership Development Program

Feagin Leadership Scholars are selected medical students, residents and fellows who are committed to becoming effective, ethical leaders in the medical profession. The Scholars engage in a year long curriculum that includes didactic teaching sessions, team projects and individual coaching.
The didactic sessions include: Mentoring, Difficult Conversations, Professional Etiquette, Public Speaking, Defining Personal Leadership and Values, Medical Leadership Models, and Professions. Also during didactic sessions, Physician leaders also share lessons learned, and provide leadership insights for the Scholars.
Students and housestaff apply for the Leadership program in the Spring. For additional information on the Feagin Leadership Scholar Program contact Executive Director Joe Doty at joseph.doty@duke.edu or 919-684-0512.
